The Tadashi Shoji models looked as if they were swimming in an ocean of aegean and azure colored luxe, dramatic coral sunsets, and sand inspired splendor. As I watched a seemingly endless show of refined elegance, I felt like I had been transported to a perfect paradise where only the most beautiful couture was permitted entrance. Clearly, there is a reason that this Los Angeles based designer is dressing superstars like Shakira and Vanessa Williams. The fit, texture, and movement within the collection was light as a feather with a serious sense of indulgence. The colors, rhythms, and fabric took the audience on an aquatic journey from sand to shore. The reverie within the line was just so magical and dreamy without an ounce of pretension. The collection was defined by the quote from Jacques Yves Cousteau, “The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder.” Well, I am still stargazing with thoughts of this bewitching collection. Tadashi Shoji has redefined glamour and brought beauty to the beach. |
